Federal regulations mandate that the University of Houston-Downtown establishes a minimum standard of “Satisfactory Academic Progress” (SAP) to measure students in their educational programs. The standards are applicable to all institutional, state, and federal programs.
Your academic record will be evaluated yearly, generally at the end of the spring semester, or when you reapply for financial aid for the upcoming aid period. Both transfer hours and hours attempted at UHD will be taken into consideration when reviewing academic progress, and will include all periods of enrollment, regardless of whether or not you received financial aid. If you have already been placed on financial aid probation, your record will be reviewed more frequently.
