Honors Students Attend National Conference, Win Award

Five Honors Program students recently won the chance to present their work at the National Collegiate Honors Council annual conference in Orlando, Florida, in October. Unfortunately, due to COVID concerns, Tyler Good and Luis Abete were unable to attend. Fikir Tadesse presented a poster titled “Effects of Plant-Derived Anticancer Agents on Levels of CDKs, p53 and Rb1 gene.” Together Gladys Chan and recent graduate Tooba Narejo presented a poster titled “Virtually Engaged Communities Strive for Equitable Societies and Environmental Justice,” which they developed under the mentorship of Professor Caroline Smith. Chan and Narejo’s poster won first place (and a cash award!) in their division. Continue reading on UHD News.
