Cheerleading Club

The University of Houston-Downtown cheerleading club team was developed to promote and uphold team spirit among the UHD community. Members are encouraged to promote good sportsmanship by example, while bringing pride to those who attend UHD by cheering at sporting events offered by UHD Sports & Fitness as well as various events sponsored by the university. The squad won the “Most Spirited” spirit stick at NCA Summer Camp in 2012, and competed at the 2016 NCA Spring Classic.

Spring 2024 Tryout Information
*Prep Classes: Jan. 9 - Jan. 16
*Prep Class/Practice Dates: Tues. & Thurs. 7pm-9pm
*Tryouts: Jan. 18 at 7pm
Location: UHD Success and Wellness Center
Performances: Friday evening basketball club home games, local community parades and University events
Registration: Register online for spring 2024 tryouts
*All interested students must register online prior to interest meetings, prep classes, and attending tryouts

Eligibility Requirements
•Must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) hours at UHD
•Must be in good academic standing at UHD
•Must possess good cheer skills
•Must be dedicated to attend all team practices
•Must pay a membership fee immediately upon making the team
