Preparing IHL students for Monthly Enrollment Verification
From the VA Office, the terms
starting after December 17, 2021, GI Bill students at Institution of Higher Learning (IHL) facilities will be required to verify their enrollment at the end of each month to continue receiving their Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) and/or kicker payments. We are in the process of developing IHL-specific resources to support you and your students though these changes.
Non-College Degree (NCD) facility students began verifying their enrollment in August and will be completing verification for October in the next few days. We will send a reminder email to students but encourage NCD SCOs to reach out as well to remind them to verify. To learn more, visit the

Hello Veteran/Dependent Gators! As of November 1st, 2021, the Veterans Stoles will be presented to those members that have performed valid community hours prior to graduation with the Student Veterans Organization (SVO). Welcome to the University of Houston-Downtown. UHD Veterans Services assists veterans, reservists, guardsmen, and dependents of disabled or deceased veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Over 500 veterans are currently pursuing a degree at UHD. Veterans Services ensures that proper paperwork is completed, certified, and filed with the Department of Veterans Affairs so that payment of education benefits can begin. Veterans Services does not, however, determine eligibility for benefits.
