What is a Bachelor of Arts in Education?

Students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Education will acquire the knowledge and skills needed to provide quality education to underprivileged youth. This program focuses on four major areas of education, including 1) early childhood through 6th grade with an ESL competency (English as a Second Language), 2) early childhood through 6th grade with a bilingual competency (for those who want to teach in bilingual classrooms), 3) upper elementary through middle school (4-8), also with an ESL competency, and 4) early childhood through 12th grade with a special education focus and ESL competency. UHD's Department of Urban Education certifies successful teachers who will prepare our next generations of society's leaders
