The Science Learning Center
The Science Learning Center at the University of Houston-Downtown, located in Room N-604, is a state-of-the-art, multipurpose facility dedicated to the support of science learning and teaching at many levels. The center offers a wide variety of UHD science courses, special pre-college courses, and teacher professional development programs.

Instructions for Signing Up for Field Studies BIOL 4380 or CHEM 4380

Determine your eligibility for field studies. In order to enroll in Field Studies you must
BIOL 4380:- have completed at least 85 semester credit hours
- be in good academic standing
- have completed at least 60 semester credit hours
- be in good academic standing

Obtain the Field Experience Application form in the NS Department Office.

Complete Part 1 of the application form and have Part 2 of the application form be completed by the employer or organization where the field studies will be conducted.

Submit the Field Experience Application form to the NS Department for approval.

Await approval notification from the NS department via email. Once the notification is received, enroll in the corresponding course, BIOL 4380 or CHEM 4380.

Complete Field Studies responsibilities and other assignments as outlined in the Field Experience Application form (Part 2).

At the end of the semester, a report signed by the Field Studies supervisor must be submitted to the NS department chair for grade assignment.
