Dr. Vida Robertson
Faculty Advisor
Vida Robertson, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of English and serves as the Director of the Center for Critical Race Studies at the University of Houston-Downtown. He teaches a wide range of Critical Race Theory and African American literature courses. His primary research and teaching interests are in late nineteenth and twentieth century African American literature, the Africana Studies, Critical Race Theory, and Disability Studies. Dr. Robertson is deeply committed to community engagement and service opportunities related to equality, education and empowerment.
Fard Rollock
Program Coordinator
Fard Rollock is from Jamaica Queens, New York by way of St. Michaels, Barbados and
joins UHD as transplant to Houston, TX. Fard earned his Bachelor of Science and Master
of Science from Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU). Fard’s studies include research
in criminal justice and human science. He also competed on the PVAMU Men’s Track &
Field team as student athlete with an athlete scholarship and later become a graduate
assistant during tenure at PVAMU.
Fard Rollock’s professional experience includes serving as Learning Resource Specialist, guarding and developing incoming freshmen students academically. Monitoring their academic progress and ensuring that they succeed in their perspective majors. His most recent work involves servicing as a Program Specialist developing, implementing, and coordinating programs and summer camps for K-12 and enrolled students at PVAMU. Fard is proud member of the Alpha Sigma Sigma chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, he serves as the 2020-22 Lone Star State Social Action Director. Some of his favorite things to do in his free time is working out, photography, travel and his love for soca music.
