Oratorical Competition

The SOLD Conference invites you to showcase your best technical writing and speaking skills and compete to be awarded up to $500 in book scholarships. You have the opportunity to participate in the oratorical competition hosted on Friday, February 7th, 2020 during this year’s SOLD Conference. To qualify, submit your application and original speech before the deadline.

TOPIC: “IMPACT: Leading with a purpose; serving at the call of duty within organizations”

ELIGIBILITY AND COMPETITION DETAILS:

• Contestants must be students currently enrolled at the University of Houston-Downtown and must be registered for the 2020 SOLD Conference.
• Oration must be the contestant’s original idea (Minimum of three minutes and a maximum of five minutes or 500-1000 words).
• A total of (3) finalist will be selected
• If selected as finalist, contestant will be required to present at the Oratorical Scholarship Competition and Luncheon during the SOLD Conference.

Completed application (includes typewritten original speech) is due January 16, 2020 by 11:59pm.
