The Bachelor of Science in Technical Communication at UHD prepares students to work in many areas of communication in business, industry, the media and government. Students in technical communication are trained to produce documents and communicate in digital and print formats, including professional applications for social media.

You will graduate with skills to

Graduates with skills in both print and digital media have many career options. Recent graduates have found positions in the following fields:

  • Technical Writing
    Prepare instruction manuals, how-to guides, journal articles, and other supporting documents to communicate complex and technical information more easily
  • Social Media Management
    Monitor, contribute, filter, measure and otherwise guiding the social media presence of a brand, product, individual or corporation.
  • Editing
    To reviewing content (most often, journalistic articles) to review and correct spelling, grammar, and factual accuracy.
  • Web Content Writing/Editing
    Use your web publishing and writing skills to further your company's reputation and goals
  • Proposal/Grant Writing
    Research, draft, and submit proposals that help organizations or individuals receive grant funding.
  • Public Relations Management/ Advertising Writing
    Create and maintain a favorable public image for the organization they represent.
  • Web Designing
    Design, create, and modify Web sites. Analyze user needs to implement Web site content, graphics, performance, and capacity.
