Leslie Flores returned to UHD to complete a bachelor’s degree in management information systems.
Leslie returned to UHD to finish a bachelor’s degree after 3 years. “My return to UHD is not merely a choice, but a privilege essential to completing my degree. This return signifies a pivotal opportunity to secure a brighter future and broaden my horizons,” said Flores.
While she faced challenges, finishing a degree is important to Flores. She noted her academic experience was essential to her return.
"While the journey back has presented challenges… overcoming these obstacles has reinforced my commitment to success. UHD's academic environment has enriched my perspectives and fostered valuable connections within a vibrant community."
Flores encourages anyone interested in returning to complete their to simply take the first step.
"A pertinent piece of advice I would offer to fellow returnees is to persevere and establish realistic objectives. Your future is within your grasp, and with determination, you can realize your aspirations."

Elisa Pensado-Zeno returned to UHD to complete a bachelor's degree in nursing.
Elisa returned to UHD to finish a bachelor's degree after 3 years.
“This degree has been long in the making. I started the RN-BSN program with the first
UHD cohort of 2018. Returning to UHD to complete my degree has meant personal growth,
a commitment to lifelong learning, a chance to improve career prospects, and the fulfillment
of a long-held goal.”
With the support of her family and university staff, Elisa was able to achieve her goal of earning a degree. “My professors, such as Dr. Dunes, Dr. Ge, Dr. Durham, Dr. Cox-miller, and Dr. Burns were the primary source of knowledge and guidance.”
Elisa urges anyone interested in returning to the complete their degree to remember their purpose for returning. “Stay motivated, always keeping your end goal in mind. Assess your situation to understand why you left in the first place and what has changed now to address any potential obstacles… it is never too late to pursue your education."
