  • Hispanic/Minority-Serving Institutions Funding

    • NEW! NIH - R25 program is to pilot test the use of training champions (TCs) at minority serving institutions (MSIs) (as defined in Section III), to support the development of educational activities and scientific career development programs and promote the diversity of the cancer research workforce. February 10, 2023 Deadline

     

    • NEW! DARPA - Young Faculty Award (YFA)  The YFA program aims to identify and engage rising stars in junior research positions in academia and equivalent positions at non-profit research institutions, particularly those without prior DARPA funding. The YFA program will provide high-impact funding to elite researchers early in their careers to develop innovative new research that enables transformative DoD capabilities.     •  NHPRC-Mellon Planning Grants for Collaborative Digital Editions Mellon Planning grant for Ethnic Studies seeks proposals for its planning grant program for Collaborative Digital Editions in African American, Asian American, Hispanic American, and Native American History and Ethnic Studies.     Education Funding

    • NEW! NIH - Transformative Educational Advancement and Mentoring Network (TEAM) . The R25 opportunity funding is to support educational activities that complement and/or enhance the training of a workforce to meet the nation's biomedical, behavioral and clinical research needs. To accomplish the stated over-arching goal, this FOA will support creative educational activities with a primary focus on:

     

    A) Courses for Skills Development
    B) Mentoring Activities

    • NEW! Foundation Opportunity - The Spencer Foundation The Spencer Foundation aims to investigate ways in which broadly conceived education can be improved worldwide. The foundation believes research is integral to improving education, making education systems more equitable, and increasing learning opportunities across the lifespan. To that end, the foundation invites applications for its Small Research Grants Program, which will support education research projects with budgets of $50,000 or less that are not longer than five years.     Institute of Education Sciences (IES): National Center for Education Research (NCER): Research Networks Focused on Critical Problems of Education Policy and Practice Assistance – February 2, 2023, deadline

     

    • Brady Educational Foundation – Supports projects focused on evaluating programs that have the potential of helping to close the opportunity and resulting achievement gaps associated with race and family income.     Arts and Humanities Funding

    • NSF – Linguistics – Basic science in the domain of human language, encompassing investigations of the grammatical properties of individual human languages, and of natural language in general. –January 15, 2023 deadline

    • NSF – Law & Science – Considers proposals that address social scientific studies of law and law-like systems of rules, as well as studies of how science and technology are applied in legal contexts. –January 15, 2023 deadline

     

    • NSF – Sociology  – Supports basic research on all forms of human social organization – societies, institutions, groups, and demography – and processes of individual institutional change. –January 17, 2023

     

    • NEH – Public Humanities Projects - to support projects that bring the ideas and insights of the humanities to life for general audiences through in-person, hybrid, or virtual programming – January 11, 2023 deadline

     

    • American Philosophical Society: Franklin Research Grants – Provides humanities scholars with grants to cover the costs of travel to libraries and archives for research purposes; the purchase of research materials; or the costs of fieldwork or laboratory expenses. –December 1, 2022 deadlines 

    • NEH – Collaborative Research – Encourages collaboration proposes diverse approaches to topics, incorporates multiple points of view, and explores new avenues of inquiry. December 7, 2022 deadline




    STEM Funding

    • NEW!  NSF - Research and Mentoring for Post baccalaureates in Biological Sciences (NSF) The Research and Mentoring for Postbaccalaureate (RaMP) in Biological Sciences program invites the submission of proposals to establish networks to support full-time research, mentoring, and training for recent college graduates who have had few or no research or training opportunities during college in research fields typically supported by the Directorate of Biological Sciences. February 16, 2023, Deadline

     

    • NEW! NSF-  Biological Anthropology Program Senior Research Awards (BA-SR) This program seeks to advance scientific knowledge about the processes that have shaped biological diversity in living and fossil humans and their primate relatives through support of basic research on human and primate evolution, biological variation, and interactions between biology, behavior, and culture. The program supports a portfolio of research that demonstrates engagement with biological anthropological and evolutionary theory; includes diverse and interdisciplinary methods in field, laboratory and computational settings; encompasses multiple levels of analysis (e.g., molecular, organismal, population, ecosystem) and time scales from the short-term to evolutionary; and considers the ethical implications and societal impacts of the research.     • NSF – Racial Equity in STEM Education (HER) Racial Equity: 

     

    Racial Equity in STEM Education (EHR Racial Equity) | Supports projects focused on advancing racial equity in STEM education and workforce development that are led or co-developed by individuals and communities most impacted by the inequities caused by systemic racism. January 17, 2023 Deadline.

     

    • NIH: Advancing Diversity in Aging Research through Undergraduate Education. PAR-20-317: NIA MSTEM: Advancing Diversity in Aging  The overarching goal of this R25 program is to support educational activities that encourage individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those from groups underrepresented in the biomedical and behavioral sciences, to pursue further studies or careers in research. May 25, 2023 Deadline.

     

    • NSF - Geoscience Opportunities for Leadership in Diversity (GOLD) - creating a network of champions who can generate greater implementation of evidence-based best practices and resources to promote belonging, accessibility, justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (BAJEDI) throughout the geoscience education, research enterprise and workforce – rolling deadlines
     
    • DOE - Minority Serving Institutions Partnership Program (MSIPP) and Tribal Education Partnership Program (TEPP Minority Serving Institution Partnerships Program  Aims to create and foster a sustainable STEM-pipeline that prepares a diverse workforce of world class talent through strategic partnerships between Minority Serving Institutions, TCUs and the DOE/NNSA Enterprise.     • NIH – NCI Mentored Research Scientist Awards to Promote Diversity (K01) - to enhance the diversity of thought in the NCI-funded cancer research workforce by supporting eligible individuals from diverse backgrounds, including groups that have been shown to be nationally underrepresented in the biomedical, behavioral, social and clinical sciences – standard due dates to November 13, 2024
