Network Share Browser Troubleshooting
This document guides you in troubleshooting issues you may encounter when accessing
the UHD Network Shares from an internet browser.
Browser Troubleshooting
Internet Explorer
Errors: Unable to find parent for the given folder
Failed to load folder
Recommendation: Add trusted sites and change the data across domains security setting
- Click on the cog and Internet Options
- Click the Security Tab
- Select the Trusted Sites zone then click Sites
- In the Add this website box type https://uhd.sharefile.com and click Add
- In the Add this website box type https://shares.uhd.edu and click Add
- Click Close
- Click Custom Level
- Scroll about halfway down to the Miscellaneous section
- Enable Access Data sources across domains
- Click OK
- Close your browser, re-open it, and try again.
Firefox
Errors: Unable to find parent for the given folder
Failed to load folder
Recommendation: We recommend updating your browser.
Chrome
Errors: Unable to find parent for the given folder
Failed to load folder
Recommendation: We recommend you turn off blocking of third-party cookies.
- Open Chrome Settings (upper right 3 vertical dots)
- Expand Advanced settings at the bottom of the screen
- In the Privacy and Security section, Select Content Settings
- Select Cookies
- Find Block third-party cookies and turn it off
Safari
Necessary Setting: Show your Developer menu (One time only)
- Open Safari
- Click Safari>Preferences
- Click Advanced
- Check Show Developer Menu in menu bar
- Click Develop>Disable Cross-Origin Restrictions
