Scope of Responsibilities
Dr. Schwartz’s primary duties and responsibilities include serving as the chief academic and administrative leader for the College of Public Service and serve on the Provost’s leadership team and Dean’s Council. Additionally, Dean Schwartz responsibilities include leadership in the following areas: vision and strategic planning, academic program leadership, internal and external partnerships, leadership/management of the College, representing the College, and revenue enhancement.
Educational Qualifications
Dr. Schwartz earned a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling from New Mexico State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Buffalo. He also is a Licensed Psychologist.
Professional Experience
Dr. Schwartz served as the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies for the College of Education at the University of Houston and previously served as the Associate Dean for Research and Outreach for the College of Education as well as Head of the Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology at New Mexico State University. He served as President of an American Psychological Association Division and is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association.
