Scope of Responsibilities
At UHD, Mr. Shahrokhi serves as the Chief Information Officer and a member of University leadership. He is responsible for the University's Information Technology Systems and Operations, which include Enterprise Systems, Operations and Telecommunications, Technology Learning Services, User Support Services and Technical Services. He develops operating and strategic technology plans as well as directs Information Technology activities to provide computing, networking, video and telecommunications needs to the University. In addition, Mr. Shahrokhi oversees University information security and ensures compliance requirements are met.
Educational Qualifications
Mr. Shahrokhi earned both his Master of Security Management and Bachelor of Sciences in Applied Mathematics degrees from the University of Houston-Downtown.
Professional Experience
Hossein Shahrokhi has more than 25 years of computing and information technology experience at the University of Houston-Downtown. For the past 19 years, he's served as the Chief Technology Officer and Chief Technology Advisor at the University. Prior to this, Mr. Shahrokhi worked for eight years as the Director of Systems and Operations and oversaw new hardware installations and maintenance and coordinated support services for academic and staff users. He also developed application systems to support student enrollment for seven years as a System Analyst at UHD.
