Welcome UHD Students!

This guide provides an overview of the essential resources and services available to support your academic journey at UHD, all provided by Information Technology.

Here’s a summary of the key services offered to you as a UHD student:

  1. NETWORK ACCOUNT.
    Once admitted, you are assigned a network account that gives you access myUHD 2.0 (http://myuhd.uhd.edu), your UHD email, and campus computer labs. The same login credentials are used to access all three services.

  2. TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION (2FA).
    For added security, UHD uses Duo 2FA, which requires both your password and a second factor (such as your phone or tablet) for login.  For more details and setup instructions, visit (http://uhd.edu/2fa). 

  3. SELF-SERVICE PASSWORD RESET TOOL.
    Student passwords are must be reset every 180 days.  When it's time, you'll receive an email with instructions.  Be sure to set up your security challenge questions today to enable 24/7 password resets at https://myidentity.uhd.edu.  If you forgot your password, visit https://uhd.edu/password for reset options.

  4. OFFICE 365.
    As a UHD student, you get a 50GB email account, 1 TB file storage, and access to Microsoft Office tools.  Learn more at http://www.uhd.edu/o365

  5. COMPUTER LABS.
    UHD's general computer labs are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and a standard suite of software  ensuring a consistent experience wherever you study. Check lab hours at http://uhd.edu/computinglabs for locations S800, C300, B200, and B12.353.

  6. STUDENT PORTAL.
    Your student portal, myUHD 2.0 (http://myuhd.uhd.edu) provides easy access to various student services.  Take time to explore and familiarize yourself with the resources available.

  7. PRINT QUOTA.
    Every registered students receive a $25 print credit each term (Fall, Winter, Spring, May, Summer). Printing costs 5 cents per black and white page ( 7 cents for double-sided) and $1 for color. You can add more funds to your print account at the Cashiers Office located in the One Main Building suite S310 or using the deposit station (accepts bills and coins) located in S800. The allocated print quota is reset to $25 at the beginning of each semester. Purchased print quota rolls over each semester.

  8. WIRELESS NETWORK.
    UHD offers fast, secure, campus-wide wireless access for laptops and mobile devices. Learn more by visiting the Wireless Network section on UHD's website.

  9. EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM.
    Stay informed in case of emergencies by signing up for notifications via email or text.  Add your cellular telephone number through My Profile and Emergency Alerts in the myUHD 2.0 portal. (http://myuhd.uhd.edu)

  10. LAPTOP CHECKOUT SERVICE.
    UHD provides laptops for currently registered students to check out.  For details on checkout locations and rules, visit http://www.uhd.edu/computing/uss/laptopcheckout.aspx.

  11. FREE AND DISCOUNTED SOFTWARE.
    Log in to myUHD 2.0 (http://myuhd.uhd.edu) and click the Software Download link to access software like Microsoft Azure Dev Tools.  UHD also partners with vendors to offer discounted software and hardware.  More information can be found at https://uhd.edu/computing/uss/studentsoftware.aspx.

  12. IT SURPLUS STORE.
    Registered students can purchase quality used computers through the IT Surplus Store. Quantities are limited.  Check availability at http://www.uhd.edu/computing/uss/itsurplus.aspx 
    Note: Make sure your student account is free of holds to purchase equipment.
