Disbursement

If the student has completed all requirements for awarding, accepted awards, and registered for classes, financial aid will disburse to help pay for tuition and fees expenses. There may be different disbursement dates depending on the type of student and type of financial aid award that is accepted. Disbursement dates for all awards are listed on the student’s MyUHD account in the section titled Award Payment Schedule. For information on how to log in to MyUHD, see My Financial Aid Status.

Disbursement of Grants and Scholarships

At UHD, grants and scholarships will typically disburse prior to the first class day.  It is important to monitor the student Gatormail account and MyUHD Financial Aid and Scholarships Info for the student’s disbursement requirements, holds that may prevent disbursement, and scheduled disbursement dates.

Disbursement of Loans

The amount of Federal Direct Loans you receive is based on your yearly eligibility and requires at least six (undergraduate) or four (graduate) hours of enrollment for the semester to be eligible to receive any amount. A completed Entrance Counseling and a signed Master Promissory Note (MPN) with studentaid.gov is required before a Federal Direct Loan disbursement will take place. State loans may require you complete a MPN, and accept terms with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board prior to disbursement. Private/alternative loan disbursements may have different requirements and will occur when the funds are received from your lender.

As noted on your student disclosure, changes in enrollment may result in delays, adjustments or cancellation of your pending aid. All students have been awarded based on an assumed full-time status. If you are not enrolled full time, your aid and refund may be adjusted.
