Yanethzy Lara and Nazma Reeza, accounting students in the Marilyn Davies College of Business, have been awarded scholarships from the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) for 2020-21. Since 2011, the PCAOB has administered a scholarship program for undergraduate and graduate accounting students enrolled in accredited U.S. colleges and universities. 

Two Marilyn Davies College of Business professors received the Online Course Development Initiative grant, an effort that encourages educators to adapt new courses or revise existing courses to an online format and use low cost or no cost materials. Instead of using textbooks to present topics, these courses will offer learnings from multiple sources, including web articles, videos and research, among others.

Connecting with students is one of the most rewarding aspects of a professor’s job.  Some faculty hesitate to teach online, frequently offering the rationale: “I want to connect with my students. There’s just not enough interaction and engagement online!”  Faculty are not alone in yearning for this connection – students want it too!
